I normally love MJs patterns and I have made this sweater before using only the video. This time I purchased the written pattern. I don't know if I didn't fully understand the row by row chart but it didn't match up with the instructions. The set up row on the yoke was only single crochet in the instructions but in the chart it says that it starts the division of the sleeves and front/back. Following the chart I ended up with one too many rows and too many stitches for the body. Pulling it back one row from the chart gave me the right amount. Also I was surprised the video that came with the pattern wasn't ad free. I would have thought by purchasing the pattern I would have been given a link to a video without ads but this is a minor thing.

excellent pattern and accompanying video. I used the wrong sized wool (it's what I had!) and used the smallest size. It was easy to make the adjustments needed for the size and my wool size. I'm not finished yet, but the photo shows my progress. I'm a beginner!

Directions are very confusing in places. I have used many patterns and have never had so much confusion. For example, one instruction says “will increase by 2 sts each round for a total of 8 sts per round”… the word round shouldn’t be used twice… but then the stitch counts given per round are going up by 14, not 8. I reached out for a separate issue and was instructed to just join the facebook group.
