I love challenging crochet patterns. Ones that make you read the pattern over and over and challenge your way of making items. Sometimes changing the way you create things. It’s not always about “easy patterns”. That’s what this pattern did and I love the results. My modifications were extra buttons along the front and ribbing on the sleeves. I made it a little big for my daughter so she can more use out of it so I flipped the bottom of the sleeves up. I also used a 3.5 instead of the 4 and a 3.25 for the edges, sleeves and collars. I’m already working on the next one. Thank you ❤️

Super easy to follow pattern. Carol responds quickly. I made a few alterations as I went along and was able to do so because Carol was so specific with sizing.
This was the first sweater I ever made and the directions were perfect!!! I made a "test" sweater before I made my "gift" sweater and was amazed that it would have been "gift worthy" had my gauge been correct. LOL I emailed Carole and she explained my mistake to me immediately. I highly recommend this shop.

The Alex Cardigan/Jacket in one word is: Sweetness. A Digital Crochet Pattern designed for Infants - 6 years. It is extremely well written, with detailed photos, diagrams, row counts, key for stitches USA / UK. It is crocheted in hdc and htc, worked in-between the stitches of the previous row. As a result ,the fabric is slightly dense and the garment warmer than some. I loved the simplicity of the finished look, and the timelessness of the design. I added a small amount of crocheted lace edging the collar and 5 pearl buttons to finish my Alex.
The pattern was very difficult to follow. I don’t think the four points of extension were counted in the stitch count.
