Pattern Details

• When I had the idea for this design I set out to learn how to make crochet pleats. I was frustrated by the lack of good clear instructions. So I came up with my own method for creating pleats! It's simple and effective. I consider this an easy pattern, although you will need to have knowledge of sc and hdc increase and decrease stitches. This pattern calls for worsted weight #4 yarn in 2 colors and 3 buttons up to 15mm across. It can easily be worked up in a few evenings and makes a lovely shower gift. This pattern calls for use of the invisible join method and instructions for this are included in an additional file.

• Pattern is written in Standard American Terms
• Yarn Size: 4 Medium Worsted Weight yarn in Main Color (up to 7.5 ounces for size 6-12 months) and Contrast Color (up to 1.5 ounces).
• Hook Size: I/9 5.5 mm hook or hook needed to obtain gauge
• Skill Level: Easy
